2. What data we collect

  • Account information: full name, phone number, email address, password (encrypted), gender, date of birth, state and city of residence.
  • Verification information (Rhyver Verify): identity verification data processed through our partner Mono (identity checks, e.g. BVN-linked verification), rental history, income source information where provided.
  • Payment information: processed through our partner Paystack. We do not store your card details, Paystack handles and stores payment credentials directly.
  • Rental reputation data: landlord feedback, tenancy history, ratings, and reviews connected to your tenancy record.
  • Marketplace listings: if you list an apartment as an outgoing tenant, or register as an artisan/local business, we collect the listing details you provide (property information, business information, contact details).
  • Ratings you submit: reviews and ratings you give of landlords, properties, or businesses on the platform.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Build and maintain your Rental Reputation profile.
  • Allow landlords to view relevant parts of your tenant profile only with your consent, for the purpose of assessing a prospective tenancy.
  • Process payments and verification through Paystack and Mono.
  • Match you with local partner benefits and offers.
  • Operate the marketplace features (artisan/business listings, apartment listings, ratings).
  • Improve our services and communicate with you about your account.

4. Who we share your data with

  • Landlords: only the specific profile information you consent to share, and only when you initiate or approve that sharing.
  • Paystack: for payment processing.
  • Mono: for identity/income verification.
  • Other users: ratings and reviews you post, and listings you create, are visible to other users of the platform as intended by the feature.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data, subject to legal/regulatory retention requirements.
  • Withdraw consent for landlord visibility of your profile at any time (future landlord views will require renewed consent; this does not retroactively un-share data already viewed).
  • Lodge a complaint with the NDPC.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, and for 5 years after account closure to meet legal, regulatory, and dispute-resolution obligations, or until you request deletion, whichever is later.
